Safran DSI - IRIS Optical Ground Station for Space Laser Communications
- Multi-Missions and Applications: Earth Observation (EO), high throughput bi-directional telecommunication, feeder link or Deep Space
- 100% Safran In-House Solution: Compatible with SDA, CCSDS and HPE standards
- Communication Data Rates: 10 to 100 times higher thanks to Cortex Lasercom
Our Optical Ground Station for Space Laser Communications has been designed to cater to a wide range of applications (Low Earth Orbit - LEO/Giant Earth Orbit - GEO/Probes), including Earth observation, high throughput bi-directional telecommunications, feeder link, or deep space missions. The Optical Ground Station leverages the Cortex Lasercom, a globally recognized optical modem that supports various standards such as SDA, CCSDS, and HPE.
Designed and developed entirely in-house, IRIS optical ground station is equipped with state-of-the-art telescopes and optronic components for transmitting and receiving laser communications. It opens up new opportunities for all players in the space market, thanks to higher, more secure space-to-ground data rates.
